Phone Global

Controls settings for firmware/kernel upgrades, as well as HTTP configuration download options for phones.

Description/Default Parameters
===== Phone Download Enabled ===== Toggles if the PBX allows the phones access to config/firmware files via HTTP, like an Access Control List.
===== Phone Auth Enabled ===== Does the PBX require password to access config/firmware files via HTTP.
===== User ===== Username for accessing config/firmware files via HTTP. Default is admin.
===== Password ===== Password for accessing config/firmware files via HTTP. Default is 1234
===== Allow Firmware Update ===== Toggles if the Key Settings page for the phone will have a button to manually update the firmware.

The phone will display a message indicating it is upgrading.

DO NOT UNPLUG THE PHONE WHILE THIS MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED ON THE PHONE.

If you unplug a phone that is updating firmware while it is loading, there is a recovery process, but it is time consuming.

Alternatively, there is a manual upload process in the phone's web page.

Typically a phone will take ~10 min to perform the update but if the phone still displays the updating message after a long time (1 hr) on a kernel update. Please contact IPitomy technical support.

If you unplug a phone while the kernel is updating, the recovery process requires special hardware to load the file into the phone.

Note that the kernel does not currently update automatically and if we release a new kernel, the best way to update is to enable the kernel button and ensure the phones that you are updating will not lose power.
