Alerts are destinations where calls can be routed to trigger a notification alarm.  Alerts can be used on inbound calls and outbound calls.  On outbound calls, Alerts can send a text message, send an email and invoke a scheduled call will can trigger an audible alarm.  For instance, if a caller dials 911, the system can be configured to send a text or email to a group of recipients who are designated to respond in emergencies.  The email and text message can be configured to include the number dialed, the extension dialing the number and the date and time.  By using the Scheduled Calls feature, an audio announcement can be triggered to play a prerecorded audio announcement over the paging system.
